Ingredients for the chocolate pudding cake
- All-purpose flour- 3/4 cup (105g
- Dutch-processed cocoa powder- 3 tablespoons (20g)
- Baking powder- 2 teaspoons
- Salt- 1/4 teaspoon
- Granulated sugar- 3/4 cup (150g)
- Whole milk- 1/2 cup (120 ml)
- Unsalted butter, melted- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick or 56g)
- Pure vanilla extract- 2 teaspoons
- Dutch-processed cocoa powder- 1/4 cup (25g)
- Light brown sugar- 1/3 cup (65g)
- Granulated sugar- 1/3 cup (65g)
- Boiling water- 1 1/2 (360 ml)
Preheat your oven to 350F/180C as usual. Then keep ready an 8-inch square pan. Do not forget to grease your pan.
Add flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt sugar into a medium-sized bowl and mix all the ingredients. Take another small-sized ball, put milk, butter, and vanilla, and combine it until you get a fine mixture. After that, pour the second mixture into the flour mixture well. After mixing the batter, pour it into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Now we move to prepare the pudding. Add cocoa, granulated sugar, and brown sugar into a small bowl and mix them until combined. Add the mixture on top of the batter evenly on the surface. Then pour the hot water evenly on top. Remember that; now, you do not need to stir it and leave as it is.
As the final step, you can put your pan in the preheated oven and bake it about 25-30 minutes. Wait with patience until the top of the cake should be nicely set, and the cake should be cracked. However, do not over bake. Take your cake outside and leave it cool for 15 minutes on a wire rack.
You can serve the warm cake or keep it in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 days. But before you serve it, put it in the microwave and make it warm.
